Hi, my name is Heather Mauldin and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) at Creekside Counseling. I earned my master’s degree from CSU Long Beach in 2004. I have over 25 years experience working in the human service field and have worked with a wide variety of populations throughout my career in different modalities including people with mental and/or physical disabilities, children, adolescents, adults, seniors, couples, families, and groups. I grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area and have spent the majority of my life in Northern California. I enjoy music, poetry, art, photography and animals (especially dogs, horses, birds, and elephants). Lately I have begun bringing my little dog Lilly Anne with me to work because my clients seem to enjoy her loving presence to provide laughter, comfort, and cuddles.

I have worked with multiple family issues, grief/loss, low self-esteem, life transitions, gender or sexuality issues, trauma, workplace problems, battered women/men, men’s issues, children in the foster care system (or who have been adopted) who have suffered abuse or neglect, youth who are struggling with substance abuse and incarceration, children with significant behavioral difficulties, pregnant women or women with newborns, and more. I am supportive of all spiritual beliefs and of those who are atheist or agnostic.

I utilize a variety of therapeutic interventions, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and Mindfulness and Insight Therapy techniques to assist each person in sharing their story, healing emotional wounds, gaining strength and insight, and moving into a stronger and healthier place.
