Get to know Samantha

Samantha is an Associate Clinical Social Worker (ASW92382). She has experience working with children, adolescents, and adults. Samantha provides therapy to couples, families and individuals. As an Associate Clinical Social Worker, Samantha is under the supervision of Erin Stidham, LMFT and Leslie Powers, LCSW and Samantha plans to become licensed this year.

Samantha earned her Bachelors of Social Work Degree from California State University, Chico and her Masters of Social Work from Boise State University in Idaho. Samantha has been trained in Aggression Replacement Training and Motivational Interviewing. Samantha has experience working with clients who have Anxiety, Depression, Bipolar, Borderline, Suicidality, ADD, Trauma, DID, Abuse and other mental health diagnoses.

Samantha uses Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), which teaches Client’s skills to cope with, and change, unhealthy behaviors. Samantha also uses Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), which involves efforts to change thinking patterns such as gaining confidence, problem-solving, motivation, or changing distorted/negative thinking. Samantha enjoys doing mindfulness meditations and grounding techniques.

When asking Samantha about what she likes about being a therapist she said, “It is a pleasure walking alongside my clients as they grow and do hard work to make change in their lives and in the lives of those around them.”
