Cory Beard
Get to know Cory
My name is Cory Beard. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I earned my master’s degree from National University in 2018, and I have been practicing at Creekside since 2019. I am married with two children and a dog, Penny, who I will sometimes bring with me to work.
I practice a wide range of therapeutic approaches, including Gestalt, Psychodynamic, Family Systems, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. I am a trauma-informed therapist who offers EMDR. I am also interested in further exploring Somatic Therapy.
My approach is rooted in mindfulness, realism, and radical acceptance. I tackle issues in a matter-of-fact, no-nonsense, and direct manner. Empathy and validation are at the forefront of what and how I do things.
I enjoy working with a variety of people at different phases of life, but I find it particularly rewarding to work with young adults and families. I am also experienced in working with clients with schizophrenia (in conjunction with their psychiatrist) and bipolar disorder.
