I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in the state of California. I started off at Simpson University where I obtained my Bachelors of Arts in Psychology. I continued my education at National University where I earned a Master’s in Counseling. I have over 10 years of experience working within the mental health industry serving people from all walks of life.
I have experience working within the school system, health center, private practice, and with local county agencies to help foster youth, adolescents, adults, and families. I provide both behavioral and mental health support for a variety of concerns and mental health issues, but a few examples are depression, anxiety, mood concerns, trauma/abuse, ADHD, Autism (Social Skill building), marital/relationship issues, LGBTQ+ issues, grief/loss, parenting concerns, and general life stressors and life changes. I am passionate about working with blended families and supporting the family with setting healthy boundaries while navigating through the challenges of co-parenting.
I enjoy working with people of all ages and backgrounds and feel that I have a calling to help anyone work through difficult times and situations. Showing compassion, acceptance and understanding are only a few of my qualities. I am easy to talk with and aim to create a safe and non-judgmental environment for you. I’m fluent in the phrase “tell me the raw and real!” As a mother of all boys (4), trust me, I’ve heard it all and nothing shocks me!
My counseling approach ranges from Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Solution Focused, Motivational Interviewing, Psychodynamic, and Client-Centered. I am also trained in EMDR, an approach to treating trauma, however, I focus on the client and tailor what is necessary to help you accomplish your goals in therapy.
With my educational experience and my own personal life experiences, I truly believe I can help children, adults, and families overcome their current obstacles. This is a journey that I am committed to take with you as you seek to live a healthier, happier, and more meaningful life.
