My name is Darcia Slape, MA and I am a Registered Associate Marriage Family Therapist. I received my BA in Human Development from CSU East Bay, and my MA from National University. I completed my training practicum at Shasta College Wellness Center. I am passionate about counseling individuals, families, children, couples, and groups.
My passion comes from my own positive experiences with counseling. When my children were young, therapy helped us with communication, connection, and focus. I am grateful to now support others and be a part of a dynamic that fosters healthy relationships. It is my dream to help others identify their strengths and potentialities.
I have specialized training in Suicide Prevention, specifically ASIST and SAFE Talk, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Supporting Father Involvement, and Neurofeedback. I have made presentations on the effects of stress to the brain as well as the effects of marijuana on the nervous system.
I desire to use the growing field of mental health in the connections I make with my clients so that I may educate and support their journey through Life’s challenges.
