Misty Barnett
Get to know Misty
Misty Barnett, LCSW is a wife and mother who values relationships and building a healthy community. Together with her husband, they have a blended family of three teenagers and two dogs. She enjoys traveling and gardening for self care.
Misty earned her BA in Psychology at Simpson University and her Master’s in Social Work at Chico State University. She is trained in Cognitive Processing Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Triple P, Triple P Teen, Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence Advocacy, and Child Abuse Prevention.
Misty works with the person within the context of their social environment. As a Clinician her approach is Rogerian; always holding the person with whom she is working in the highest regard. Misty has worked with a variety of populations, including children, parents, and people overcoming such things as trauma, poverty, divorce, abuse, grief, anxiety, bipolar depression, and PTSD.
She especially enjoys working with family systems to support positive change! Helping others see their full potential and make sense of their life experiences so that they are able to live confidently capable of creating the change they want in their lives.
