Katie Dunbar

Get to know Katie

Hello! My name is Katie Dunbar and I am a licensed clinical psychologist. I obtained my BA in psychology from Sonoma State University in 2012 and continued to get my doctorate in clinical psychology from George Fox University near Portland, OR in 2019. I grew up in Redding, CA and am grateful to be able to work within the community that shaped me.

I have experience working with people of all ages in outpatient mental health as well as primary care settings. Much of my previous work in primary care was with patients struggling with mental health issues that were impacted by chronic physical health conditions. My focus in health psychology along with my own life experiences lead me to work with women facing fertility issues, perinatal loss, and postpartum mood disorders. I also work with people experiencing anxiety, depression, and coping with trauma.

My treatment modalities include acceptance and commitment therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and motivational interviewing. More importantly, my focus is on building relationships with each individual patient and empowering them to make improvements based on their values, utilizing therapy interventions that work well for that unique individual.

If you think we would be a good fit, please reach out to the Creekside Counseling office to schedule or to ask any questions you may have.
